The organization, function and maintenance of the genome are the focus of a very interactive group of GGD laboratories, Students in this area may choose from a diverse range of laboratories studying topics ranging from DNA repair and DNA replication, to chromatin, nuclear architecture and transcription. This is an especially exciting era because of the potential to translate our basic understanding of repair mechanisms into novel effective therapeutics.
